Jaffe, Alley, and Miller Honored With Coat of Excellence Award
Dr. Tracy Jaffe, Dr. Julia Alley and Hayden Miller were honored by the Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine today at a ceremony held at the CVM.
Jaffe, Alley and Miller were presented with Coats of Excellence in recognition by college donors for their outstanding care and contributions.
Jaffe was honored by Doug, Amy and Drew Knitting of Columbus; Alley and Miller were both honored by Harmon and Sherry Jackson of Brandon. Miller is the first student to be recognized in the program.
“A ceremony like this is special and it’s always nice to be appreciated,” said Dr. Nicholas Frank, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine. “It’s also a reminder that the care is from a team of people, as our recipients today all mentioned, and that’s not just the people on the front line of the care with the client and patient, but those are providing care in the background, who are helping keep up the facility in so many ways that the client may never see."
Coat of Excellence is a recognition program that allows the public to honor a faculty clinician, intern, resident, student or staff member who has touched an owner or pet’s life in a meaningful way. The honoree receives an embroidered coat with the name of the recipient as well as their pet’s name and personalized recognition in one of our hospital’s lobbies. The $10,000 tax deductible gift also supports clinical research and care and helps advance our efforts of teaching the next generation of veterinarians.
