About the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program

The Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) curriculum provides a strong, multi-species foundation and offers the opportunity to focus on species or discipline-specific areas of interest. We are one of only a few colleges of veterinary medicine that, like most colleges of human medicine, require two full years of mentored clinical education in addition to two years of preclinical (classroom and laboratory) coursework.
