Vet Camp
It’s June at the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, which means that Vet Camps are in full swing. Campers have had the chance to learn all about what it takes to be a veterinarian: from performing physical wellness exams to understanding how to tie a suture to discussing how to handle emergency cases to learning important clinical skills. These campers are becoming better equipped for a bright future in the field of veterinary medicine.
These camps wouldn't be possible without our outstanding overnight and day camp directors, coordinators and counselors. These individuals are current CVM students who want to give back to their college and community by introducing children and teenagers to vet medicine. We are also grateful to the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science for visiting the Wise Center and educating campers about wild animals found in Mississippi, including turtles and snakes.
Camps will continue through the middle of June. Applications for the 2027 Vet Camps will go live in the fall.
